Detective Chinatown 2 is the second web series in the 唐人街探案 (Detective Chinatown) franchise. Through intertwining detective cases with societal issues, it explores themes such as human nature, societal inequities, and institutional flaws.
Wang Xiaoke is the older sister of the main character Kiko, and appears during her childhood flashbacks, serving as a personalized motivation for Kiko to participate in investigating a series of undercover organizations trapping young women in coerced pornography, a crucial unit in the overall series voicing protection of women and institutionalized flaws.
